Perry County Fraternal Order of Police 137 and the Perry County Fraternal Order of Police 137 Auxiliary raising funds

Jun 29, 2023

TELL CITY — On July 3, 2023 the city of Tell City suffered a tremendous loss as beloved Set. Heather Glenn lost her life in the line of duty. Unprecedented for Perry County, the entire law enforcement community, Heather’s family, friends, and acquaintances were left in shock while trying to find comfort and understanding. Heather was a hero to many in our community and with the help of the Indiana Fraternal Order of Police, we were able to send her off with a memorial service that she deserved. Not only did this service honor Heather, it provided a means of community involvement by coming together to pay respects after one of the most tragie events in our county’s history. There is no greater sacrifice one can make than to lay down their life to protect others as Heather did. This sacrifice deserves to be recognized by not only our community but all others across our great nation.

In May 2024, National Police Week will take place in Washington, DC. National Police Week will include various ceremonies and events for law enforcement members from across the country. Particularly, many events will serve as a memorial to those who lost their lives in the line of duty.

The family of Heather Glenn will participate in memorial ceremonies throughout the week and will get to see Heather’s name engraved on the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

Additionally, a number of members from the Tell City Police Department and friends will make the trip to provide support for the family and pay tribute to Heather in front of the most honorable members of law enforcement in our country.

The costs associated with this trip including travel, hotel, food, etc., are significant. Fundraising events co-sponsored by both the Perry County Fraternal Order of Police 137 and the Perry County Fraternal Order of Police 137 Auxiliary will be announced soon. Monetary donations are also acceptable and can be submitted to the Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary 137. There are no donations too small as every dollar counts in helping us achieve this important and honorable initiative.

Checks may be written to Perry County FOP 137 Auxiliary (Memo: Police Week) and mailed to

707 Mozart Street Tell City IN 47586 or dropped off at the Tell City Police Department. Please contact Brian Greulich at 812-719-0263 with any questions.

We appreciate the support from our community and would like to thank you, in advance, for your donation.
